As a global technology company, G&D affords top priority to research and development. This includes the development of sustainable products and eco-friendly production processes. G&D also constantly tests alternative, eco-friendly materials that are especially durable and/or easily recyclable.

PVC Recycled

These cards are made from recycled PVC. The proportion of recycled material in the card varies from between 50% and 85%, depending on the availability of the raw material. The reduction in PVC waste makes an effective contribution towards protecting the environment.

Durocore

Durocore cards offer significantly improved durability compared to standard card bodies with the same print quality and the corresponding variety of design possibilities. This material quality is achieved through a combination of design layers containing PVC, and a particularly durable core material.

PET-G

The PVC-free card bodies in the PET-G product range can be disposed of easily and do not generate any environmentally harmful substances when burned.

G&D attaches great importance to ensuring that its smartcards and payment products are environmentally friendly throughout their entire lifecycle. It is not only the material that determines the environmental impact of a card, but also the various raw materials, the production and logistics processes, and the product maintenance.
