Read moreThe future of the cash cycle
The automation of banknote processing and the many electronic payment procedures are changing the cash cycle forever. In the first part of our series entitled The Future of the Cash Cycle we will discuss how an intelligent step forward can make cash transactions considerably easier. So much so that the workload can be reduced by up to 30%.
The price of cash
Cash is the most popular payment method in the world and it is also set to stay that way for the foreseeable future. Over the last few years, the volume of cash has been constantly rising by around 4% a year, despite the electronic payment methods available. The processes and systems for providing banknotes, processing banknotes, and finally destroying banknotes therefore need to be optimized because processing cash costs money. It not only needs to be printed, but counted, checked, sorted, and packed at many places, which is why a large amount of cash is in transit between bank cash centers, cash-in-transit companies, and central banks.
