The Key to Success
With around 160 years of experience in security technologies, G&D products and solutions are playing an active role in shaping one of the most important trends of the future: security. The growing need for security pervades every area of modern, networked life. The challenge here is to identify and understand the changes taking place in markets which themselves are changing ever more rapidly, and to develop new products and solutions using the latest technologies. The key to our success lies in the research and development of new technologies, products, and processes. We utilize our technological expertise in a variety of research projects, helping our customers to successfully develop and operate new markets, business models, applications, and technologies.
Developing Tomorrow's Technologies Today
Together with partners from universities, research establishments and industry, G&D is currently involved in the following research projects promoted by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
This European project seeks to meet the increased demand for systematic IT security test methods by developing technologies and utilities that can be used in an efficient way to secure networked systems and applications in different fields.
Within Europe, this project works to establish a uniform, modular concept for automatic border controls combining security, comfort, and speed.
"Against the background of the regulation 2014/910/EU on electronic identification (eID) and trusted services for electronic transactions in the internal market (eIDAS), the FutureTrust project, which is funded within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020), aims at supporting the practical implementation of the regulation in Europe and beyond.
For this purpose the FutureTrust project will address the need for globally interoperable solutions through basic research with respect to the foundations of trust and trustworthiness, …"
„Lightweight Infrastructure for Global Heterogeneous Trust management in support of an open Ecosystem of Stakeholders and Trust schemes.”
The objective of LIGHTest is to create a global cross-domain trust infrastructure that renders it transparent and easy for verifiers to evaluate electronic transactions. By querying different trust authorities world-wide and combining trust aspects related to identity, business, reputation etc. it will become possible to conduct domain-specific trust decisions.
The European project MobilePass focuses on research and development towards technologically advanced mobile equipment at land border crossing points. The aim of the project is to provide new technologies for practical mobile devices which allow border control authorities to check European, visa-holding and frequent third country travellers in a comfortable, fast and secure way.
