Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) and Bundesdruckerei GmbH, together with the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and Infineon Technologies AG, have received the Juniper Research Identity & Security Award 2026 in the “Post Quantum Cryptography Excellence – Gold Winner” category. The award recognizes the “Demonstrator for a quantum-safe identity card” – one of the world’s first functional implementations of a national identity card combining conventional cryptography with post-quantum cryptography.

SecurityTech company Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is contributing its expertise to the European research project uPQComing (“Enhancing Cyber-Resilience for the upcoming Post-Quantum era”) and developing technologies for the next generation of quantum-safe identity cards. Global SecurityTech company Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) today announced the launch of its AI Hub in Montréal, Canada. Located at Mila, the hub is at the heart of G+D’s Global Center of Excellence for AI and will develop applied AI solutions for security-critical domains, including cybersecurity, financial technology, and digital identity. The establishment of the new hub builds on G+D’s long-standing presence in Canada since 1962.

CENSE, the provider of a crypto compliance and evidence platform for financial institutions, has secured G+D Ventures as one of the lead investors in its €6.5 million seed round. Alongside G+D Ventures, Rabo Investments co-led the financing round. Several angel investors, also participated significantly. The platform helps banks and financial institutions gain visibility into customers’ digital asset activity and provides the infrastructure to assess, document, and manage these activities at scale while meeting increasing regulatory requirements. With the new funding, CENSE plans to accelerate the expansion of their activities across Europe.
