An in-house talent forge: employee development at G+D
We want to fill key positions with outstanding candidates from within our own ranks. To this end, we have established a series of effective development programs.
From the identification and selection of talented individuals, through offerings for technical and personal development, to leadership feedback – our multi-stage process is targeted at systematically supporting our employees’ potential in specialist, project manager, and general manager positions.
The first steps: talent pool and top talent pool
Two pools: three years of targeted career development
When selecting individuals for the Talent Pool, we identify employees with outstanding potential. They receive targeted support for three years.
We offer internationally oriented candidates who have gained excellent results in the selection procedure the possibility for focused further development in our global Top Talent Pool.
The program includes specifically tailored training content and business-related project work, backed up by support from a mentor at executive management level.
The success speaks for itself: most participants reach the goal of the next developmental step significantly before the suggested three years.
Our modular program for leading minds
G+D manager development: a broad offering, within and outside German
At G+D, it is standard practice that new managers go through a modular program that combines the role of the manager with higher-level abilities such as interviews or conflict management. In addition, we offer all managers specific training, such as on the subjects of employment law, communication, and feedback.
A career booster for middle management
The next objective: taking the step into Executive Management
The Executive Pool is our support program for top talents from middle management. Anyone nominated by the Management Board goes through an extensive, internationally aligned development program.
In this process, individual development ideas are compared with G+D career opportunities, and participants are prepared for a position in Executive Management by means of intensive coaching on personality development and strengthening the individual’s management understanding. After 12 to 18 months, they are generally ready for their next career step.
