In Angola, the National Bank partnered with G+D to build a modern, high-tech cash center in Luanda. As the 7th biggest country in Africa, Angola’s population is rapidly growing, and the economy is heavily reliant on cash. The National Bank of Angola invested in the new cash center to optimize the cash cycle with the latest technology for efficient and ultra-secure processing, storage, and distribution of banknotes and coins for decades to come. A unique currency hub with cash center and printworks for the Central Bank of Egypt
- Challenge: Building an end-to-end infrastructure to secure the entire cash cycle of Egypt during a pandemic.

The Central Bank of Egypt is one of the most modern currency hubs on the entire African continent. At the new headquarters of the Central Bank of Egypt in New Capital Cairo, G+D acted as general contractor for the construction and turnkey set up of a complete print house with a connected cash center – and implemented a holistic security concept right from the start. Four complete printing lines ensure the secure printing of Egyptian banknotes – and from there, via a highly automated cash center, guarantee the security of the Egyptian currency from design, production, storage to distribution, throughout the entire life cycle of each banknote.
Africa’s first fully-automated vault solution for the National Bank of Rwanda
- Challenge: The main challenge was to triple the storage capacity in the existing cash center without any further construction work by developing a fully automated vault.
- Solution: A fully automated solution with state-of-the-art technology integrated and controlled by G+D's software systems.
