Munich, May 4, 2017 – At the Annual General Meeting of secunet Security Networks AG held today, Ralf Wintergerst, Chairman of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient, was elected to the Supervisory Board. Following the Annual General Meeting, the members of the Supervisory Board elected him as its new Chairman.

Munich (Germany), April 25, 2017 – At Hannover Messe Industrie, Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) Mobile Security is presenting its complete solution Secure Industrial Visibility (SIV) for the active protection of and remote access to industrial machines. The solution enables a secure connection between two linked end points in order to defend against industrial espionage and cyber attacks. SIV can be used on equipment from any provider or machine manufacturer and secures existing machines (as a retrofit option), as well as new machinery, in Industry 4.0 environments

Munich, April 11, 2017 – In the fiscal year 2016, global security technology group Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) posted the highest revenue in the company’s history. At around EUR 2.1 billion, the figure was almost four percent above the prior year. The technology group’s adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by around 23 percent to EUR 125 million, while the EBIT margin grew by 0.9 percentage points to six percent. Despite increased tax expense following the company’s reorganization, G+D achieved a strongly positive net income of EUR 52.5 million in the fiscal year ending December 31, 2016, roughly equivalent to the result for the previous year. All four business units – Banknote, Mobile Security, Veridos, and secunet – made a positive contribution to Group earnings before interest and taxes.

Munich, April 10, 2017 – Stefan Auerbach, Head of the Mobile Security business unit and Member of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient (G+D), is leaving the Group. Carsten Ahrens is taking over the management of Mobile Security, with immediate effect.

The objective of the ALESSIO research project under the leadership of Infineon Technologies AG is to develop and assess these security mechanisms. Project partners from Munich are Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security (AISEC), Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, Siemens AG and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as Karlsruhe-based WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. The project runs until the end of 2019 and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with approximately Euro 3.9 million. MUNICH, GERMANY (March 1st, 2017) - Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) is teaming up with Otono Networks to simplify and drastically reduce the cost of deployment of eSIM solutions for carriers around the world. The partners have now combined the G&D eSIM Management platform and the Otono platform to help operators be ready for the rapid growth of eSIM-enabled devices for both consumer and IoT applications.

Barcelona, February 28, 2017 - Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), in collaboration with CaixaBank, will distribute wearable wristbands for contactless payments among MWC 2017 attendees. The wristbands, manufactured by G&D, are lightweight, submersible and ergonomically designed.

Munich (Germany) - G&D and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join forces for global marketing and deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Under the terms of the agreement G&D is providing its AirOn eSIM management solution to integrate with Huawei’s open OceanConnect IoT ecosystem. The combined solution provides seamless connectivity services based on secure eSIM profile provisioning and enables Huawei worldwide users to flexibly connect to Mobile Network Operator (MNO) services of their choice. Meanwhile, Huawei OceanConnect IoT ecosystem helps G&D fully connect and control IoT devices.
