Veridos Equips Munich Security Conference with Contactless Access Control Systems
Veridos is once again providing the technology for identifying participants at the Munich Security Conference, the world's leading forum for debating international security policy. Veridos' innovative eAccess system ensures contactless, efficient, and secure access control at the event, providing the highest level of security.
The 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC), from February 14-16, 2025, will bring together global leaders to discuss today’s most pressing security challenges. For the sixth year in a row, the MSC will rely on Veridos' state-of-the-art eAccess system to identify participants. Veridos is a joint venture of Bundesdruckerei and Giesecke+Devrient. The system will be used at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, the main venue of the conference, and at the Hotel Rosewood Munich, which will host side events.
Conference attendees will receive eco-friendly access badges made from recycled plastic. These badges feature high-security RFID chips supplied by Veridos' partner NXP Semiconductors. These chips can only be read by authorized devices. Each chip contains a unique ID linked to the participant's identity stored in a database, including their biometric data. As participants enter walk-through portals, the chips are read wirelessly and their faces are captured by cameras and compared to the stored biometric data. This process provides contactless and efficient access control with the highest level of security.
Since last year, Veridos has been working with its biometrics partner, Innovatrics, which provides the facial recognition software, to significantly enhance the system's automatic facial recognition capabilities. The system is now more powerful to verify identities faster and more reliably. As an alternative to walk-through portals, access cards can be scanned via smartphones using a dedicated Veridos app, which provides attendee images for manual verification.
"We are very pleased with the renewed confidence placed in us by the Munich Security Conference," said Marc-Julian Siewert, CEO of Veridos. "This reaffirms our commitment to combining cutting-edge technology with the highest security standards to deliver secure and convenient access control systems."
