Group CEO of Giesecke+Devrient

Ralf Wintergerst is Chairman of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient (G+D). In addition to his duties as Group CEO, he is responsible for the Central Services departments of Information Systems, Corporate Security, Compliance Management and Auditing, Corporate Communications, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Legal Services, and Corporate Governance.

Wintergerst joined G+D in 1998 and has held various management positions in the company. He became a member of the Management Board in 2013 with his appointment to lead the business unit Banknote (today Currency Technology). In 2016 he was named Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of G+D.

Alongside his role at G+D, Wintergerst is president of the German digital association Bitkom. Furthermore, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of secunet Security Networks AG (Essen, Germany) and President of the Board of Directors of netcetera AG (Zurich, Switzerland).

Wintergerst studied business administration and holds two master’s degrees – one in management and the other in politics philosophy and economics (PPE). He earned his doctorate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich with a thesis on corporate governance and management.

Group CFO of Giesecke+Devrient

Peter Zattler is a Member of the Management Board at Giesecke+Devrient since July 1, 2001. As Chief Financial Officer, he is in charge of the areas of Controlling, Treasury, Business Accounting, and Taxes. Since January 1, 2006, Zattler has also been responsible for Human Resources.

From 1984 to 1986, Zattler worked in the Auditing department at Arthur Andersen. After earning his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen, Zattler was hired by Daimler Benz Group in 1988, where he held various management positions within the group’s financial function. He moved to debis AG in Berlin in 1991 and then took up his role at Debitel GmbH & Co. KG in Stuttgart in 1993. From 1998 until he joined Giesecke+Devrient, Zattler was CFO of MCC smart within the Mercedes Car Group.

In addition to his role at G+D, Zattler has been Member of the Supervisory Board of secunet Security Networks AG since 2004. Since September 2021, Zattler has been member of the board of the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw – Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e.V.).

Dr. Wolfram Seidemann

CEO of G+D Currency Technology

Wolfram Seidemann is CEO of the Giesecke+Devrient Currency Technology GmbH. He was appointed Group Executive Banknote at Giesecke+Devrient GmbH in November 2016. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Management Board of Papierfabrik Louisenthal and Division Head Paper after having been responsible for Sales and Marketing of Banknote Processing Systems worldwide.

Seidemann joined G+D in 1999 as Head of International Research and Development Chipcard. He subsequently held various senior management positions at G+D subsidiaries, among them Managing Director Giesecke+Devrient Asia in Singapore, President of G+D Teco Taiwan, Taipei and Member of the Board Giesecke+Devrient India, New Delhi.

Before joining G+D, Seidemann worked for the Economics Department of the Technical University Munich as Head of R&D- and Innovation Management and as an industry consultant in this area. Seidemann studied Electrical Engineering and Business Administration, and holds a doctor’s degree in Innovations Management from the Technical University of Munich.

 

Gabrielle Bugat, CEO of G+D ePayments

Gabrielle Bugat is CEO of the Giesecke+Devrient ePayments GmbH. She has a rich background in international business and many years of broad professional experience within the payments industry. Having started her career in product management at Schlumberger Smartcards (Axalto), in 2003 she took over the position of Technical Director for Latin America. In 2006, when Axalto became Gemalto, Ms. Bugat came back to France as Senior Vice President, and held various leadership positions in Product Management, R&D and Sales. In 2014 she took on heading the worldwide solution business for banking and payment at Gemalto, with managing director roles in several subsidiaries.

Ms. Bugat joined G+D in 2017 as Head of Sales and Marketing for payment cards and solutions. Subsequently she took over responsibility for the whole Business Unit, leading sales, operations, product and development. In addition to this, from January 2021 Ms. Bugat was assuming responsibility for the further development of G+D's investments across all aspects of digital payments, like recently with the Swiss software company Netcetera. Since January 2023, Gabrielle Bugat has been CEO of Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security GmbH. From July 2023 she is CEO of the Giesecke+Devrient ePayments GmbH, which provides seamless physical and digital payment solutions for banks and fintechs.

Beyond her role at G+D, Ms. Bugat has also been engaged in the Board of Directors of her alma mater, the renowned university Mines ParisTech.

 

Dr. Philipp Schulte, CEO of G+D Mobile Security Germany

CEO of G+D Mobile Security

Philipp Schulte is CEO of Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security, which provides customers with products and solutions in the area of connectivity and for the Internet of Things. Previously, Schulte served as CFO of the Mobile Security business sector since 2021 and until then led Corporate Strategy and Development for the G+D Group for five years. In addition to his role at G+D, Schulte is a member of the Board of Directors of netcetera AG (Zurich) since 2020.

Schulte worked for several years internationally as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, particularly in the high-tech, automotive and telecom sectors. He holds a doctorate in economics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and a master's degree in information and communication technology.

 

Marc-Julian Siewert CEO of Veridos

CEO of Veridos

Marc-Julian Siewert is CEO of Veridos GmbH, a joint venture between Giesecke+Devrient and Bundesdruckerei. The company supplies governments and authorities with tailor-made complete solutions for secure identification. Governments and authorities in more than 100 countries trust into the integration and product know-how of Veridos. Marc-Julian joined G+D in 2013 as Regional Sales Director. From 2014 to 2016 he took over various key accounts worldwide and several strategic projects, and then managed the sales and marketing operations for G+D Currency Technology in the Middle East and Africa. From 2019 to 2021 Marc-Julian was COO and member of the management board of Veridos.

Before joining G+D, Marc-Julian gained critical experience in optimizing operations for various reputable companies in Europe and Southern Africa while working as a business and technology consultant in Zurich, Switzerland. Marc-Julian completed his studies of business and management in London, New York und Madrid and holds a Master’s degree in international management from IE Business School.

Since Januar 2018 Axel Deininger serves together with Thomas Pleines, Tosten Henn and Dr Kai Martius. 
He is specifically responsible for strategy/business development, international sales, marketing and human ressources at secunet Security Networks AG. Axel Deininger has been Chairman of the Board since June 2019.

Axel Deininger is an industrial engineer who possesses many years of management experience from holding positions at companies such as Siemens AG, Infineon Technologies AG and Samsung Semiconductor Europe GmbH. Most recently, Deininger held a variety of management positions during his more than ten years with Munich-based Giesecke+Devrient Group.
