CSR at G+D: Applying Values – The Foundation of Sustainability
Acceptance of social responsibility is an elementary part of G+D’s business practices. Behaving in accordance with our corporate values forms the basis for G+D’s sustainable success.
The company’s guiding principle of “Creating Confidence” is not solely aimed at creating unlimited confidence in G+D’s products and solutions. In fact, “Creating Confidence” also reflects the belief that actively taking responsibility adds value for society and for the company.
G+D therefore aims to reconcile the business, social, and ecological impacts of its activities in the long term. In collaboration with employees and partners, G+D is working to implement the core of its corporate values – innovation, reliability and collaboration – in the long term and for everyone’s benefit.
In order to meet its responsibility vis-à-vis the environment, the employees and the company, as well as its customers and suppliers, G+D is committed to the principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor standards, protecting the environment, and fighting corruption.
Concept of Responsible Corporate Management
The G+D Management Board has set out the Group-wide concept of responsible corporate management in a Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It includes all key principles for sustainable, responsible business activity. In order to integrate these into the company strategy and operations, the Chairman of the Management Board is directly responsible for CSR strategy orientation. Doing this means maintaining a dialog with the G+D stakeholders. The measures taken are set out in detail in an annual Communication on Progress and documented in overview in the company’s Annual Report.
The guiding principles are based on the UN Global Compact and the Management Board commitment. The Chairman of the Management Board is responsible for their implementation in the Group.
G+D creates an environment that motivates its employees to perform, and gives them the scope to develop both professionally and personally within the company.
G+D’s goal is to make the entire company value chain sustainable in the long term, and to continuously reduce its ecological footprint.
G+D suppliers undergo a stringent selection process – not only according to quality, but also compliance and CSR criteria.
The Giesecke+Devrient Foundation supports projects in the fields of education, culture, and intercultural exchange. G+D also encourages employees to do voluntary work.
