Aeris and G&D Cooperate on Secure Connectivity for M2M Applications and the Mobile Internet

Santa Clara / Munich, December 15, 2015 – Aeris, a pioneer and leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) market and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications, and global technology provider Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) have entered into an agreement enabling Aeris to remotely manage its deployed IoT devices. G&D will supply Aeris with special plug-in and embedded SIMs and the corresponding Over-the-Air (OTA) management of the data contained within those SIMs to effectively support the Aeris cellular network, which was designed and built exclusively for the IoT. The ability to remotely manage its devices optimizes Aeris’ IoT and M2M solutions across a wide range of international industries.

Stockholm (Sweden) and Munich (Germany), October 19, 2015 – Ericsson today announced a partnership with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) to deliver a commercial end-to-end subscription management solution. Via a highly secure process, the system will enable the remote provisioning and management of mobile operator SIM profiles and policies. “NewP@ss” Research Project Developed Security Technologies for Next Generation ePassports and eGovernment Applications

Munich, Germany – July 2, 2015 – Contactless, multifunctional, fast and secure features are important requirements for the new generation of travel documents. The main challenge lies in the combination of security and convenience: travelers should be able to pass through border checkpoints even more quickly and yet Securely and citizens would like to access online services offered by public authorities with their smartphones. In the past three years, issues concerning the security of electronic identity documents have been addressed by the “NewP@ss” research project. The research conducted by security chip providers Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) and NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH (NXP) as well as Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), a specialist for secure chip card systems, was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with about Euro 4 million. The companies were part of a consortium of 15 European enterprises and research institutions within the EUREKA programme CATRENE.
