For Giesecke & Devrient, social responsibility is a fundamental part of day-to-day business.

We thus seek to reconcile the long-term commercial, social, and environmental impacts of our activities. In conversation with our employees and partners, we strive to put into practice the core of our corporate values – trust, quality, sustainability, responsibility, and integrity – for everyone’s benefit.
CSR at G&D
In the last few years, we have consolidated and focused our existing activities in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and we continue to move them forward in a targeted fashion. The binding principles of this CSR strategy include our CSR commitment and our participation in the UN Global Compact. They document our view of social responsibility as a fundamental part of our corporate activities.
Climate and environmental protection
Using resources responsibly and protecting the environment and climate are core issues within social responsibility. To those ends, we have formulated a vision with binding goals. Concrete measures will bring us significantly closer to our objective of a sustainable value chain.
We are responsible for over 11,000 employees worldwide. Their dedication and expertise are the foundation of our company’s performance. All our activities therefore revolve around appreciation for our employees, protection of their health, promotion and development of their skills, and a family-oriented human resources policy that values diversity and equal opportunity.
Security and society
For us, security is more than a question of technology. In a connected, mobile world, we would like to contribute to taking on the challenges of the digitized society. The subjects of data protection and security, and the protection of identities are especially close to our core business and likewise have a high social significance.

We see ourselves as part of the society in which we operate. This understanding is expressed through targeted corporate citizenship activities at our sites worldwide. We have brought together our activities in the areas of education, culture, and intercultural exchange to form the Giesecke & Devrient Foundation. We support our employee’s civic engagement with a corporate volunteering program.
