Ralf Wintergerst

Group CEO of Giesecke+Devrient

Ralf Wintergerst is Chairman of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient (G+D). In addition to his duties as CEO, he is responsible for the Central Services departments of Information Systems, Corporate Security, Compliance Management and Auditing, Corporate Communications, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Legal Services and Corporate Governance.

Wintergerst joined G+D in 1998 as Director of International Subsidiaries in the Cards and Services business. Between 1999 and 2005 he held various management positions in the division Currency Management Solutions, ultimately heading it from 2006 on. As Group Executive of the business unit Banknote Wintergerst has been a member of the Giesecke+Devrient Management Board since 2013. In November 2016 he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board.

Furthermore to his role at G+D, Wintergerst is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of secunet Security Networks AG. In addition, he holds various positions related to IT security issues, including member of the advisory board of the Cyber Defense research institute of the Bundeswehr University in Munich and co-chair of the Digital Summit Platform "Security, Protection and Trust" of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Ralf Wintergerst studied Business Administration and holds a Master´s Degree in Management as well as in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Dr. Peter Zattler

Group CFO of Giesecke+Devrient

Dr. Peter Zattler is a Member of the Management Board at Giesecke+Devrient since July 1, 2001. As Chief Financial Officer, he is in charge of the areas of Controlling, Treasury, Business Accounting, and Taxes. Since January 1, 2006, Zattler has also been responsible for Human Resources.

From 1984 to 1986, Dr. Zattler worked in the Auditing department at Arthur Andersen. After earning his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen, Zattler was hired by Daimler Benz Group in 1988, where he held various management positions within the group’s financial function. He moved to debis AG in Berlin in 1991 and then took up his role at Debitel GmbH & Co. KG in Stuttgart in 1993. From 1998 until he joined Giesecke+Devrient, Zattler was CFO of MCC smart within the Mercedes Car Group.

Since 2021, Dr. Zattler has been member of the board of the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw – Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e. V.).

G+D Currency Technology

Dr. Wolfram Seidemann

CEO of G+D Currency Technology

Dr. Wolfram Seidemann is CEO of the Giesecke+Devrient Currency Technology GmbH. He was appointed Group Executive Banknote at Giesecke+Devrient GmbH in November 2016. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Management Board of Papierfabrik Louisenthal and Division Head Paper after having been responsible for Sales and Marketing of Banknote Processing Systems worldwide.

Seidemann joined G+D in 1999 as Head of International Research and Development Chipcard. He subsequently held various senior management positions at G+D subsidiaries, among them Managing Director Giesecke+Devrient Asia in Singapore, President of G+D Teco Taiwan, Taipei and Member of the Board Giesecke+Devrient India, New Delhi.

Before joining G+D, Seidemann worked for the Economics Department of the Technical University Munich as Head of R&D- and Innovation Management and as an industry consultant in this area. Seidemann studied Electrical Engineering and Business Administration, and holds a doctor’s degree in Innovations Management from the Technical University of Munich.

G+D Mobile Security

Carsten Ahrens

CEO of G+D Mobile Security

Carsten Ahrens is the CEO of Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security GmbH. As well as his duties as CEO, he is responsible for the areas of Strategy, Compliance, Sales, Divisions, Marketing and Communications, and the Technology Office.

Carsten Ahrens has been working in the Mobile Security unit at G+D since 2013, initially as the Manager of the Telecommunication Industries division and later as the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Carsten Ahrens held various management positions before joining G+D, including CTO/COO at Funkwerk AG and Managing Director at Ericsson GmbH.

Gabrielle Bugat

Member of the Management Board G+D Mobile Security

Gabrielle Bugat has a rich background in international business and many years of broad professional experience within the payments industry. Having started her career in product management at Schlumberger Smartcards (Axalto), in 2003 she took over the position of Technical Director for Latin America. In 2006, when Axalto became Gemalto, Ms. Bugat came back to France as Senior Vice President, and held various leadership positions in Product Management, R&D and Sales. In 2014 she took on heading the worldwide solution business for banking and payment at Gemalto, with managing director roles in several subsidiaries.

Ms. Bugat joined G+D in 2017 as Head of Sales and Marketing for payment cards and solutions. Subsequently she took over responsibility for the whole Business Unit, leading sales, operations, product and development. In addition to this, from January 2021 Ms. Bugat is assuming responsibility for the further development of G+D's investments across all aspects of digital payments, like recently with the Swiss software company Netcetera.

Beyond her role at G+D, Ms. Bugat has also been engaged in the Board of Directors of her alma mater, the renowned university Mines ParisTech.


Andreas Räschmeier

CEO of Veridos

Andreas Räschmeier is CEO of Veridos GmbH, a joint venture between Giesecke+Devrient and Bundesdruckerei (Berlin). The company supplies governments and authorities with tailor-made complete solutions for secure identification.

Räschmeier began his professional career at G+D in 2004, when he took over as Head of Business Development in the area of chip card security. Since then, he has held several management positions in various business sectors, including Group Vice President Sales & Marketing for the former payment division. Most recently, he was Global Vice President Operations & Global Support at the subgroup Currency Technology. He has been CEO of Veridos since November 1, 2019.

Before joining G+D, the industrial engineer worked for Siemens and STMicroeletronics in France.


Axel Deininger

CEO of secunet

Since Januar 2018 Axel Deininger serves together with Thomas Pleines, Tosten Henn and Dr Kai Martius. 
He is specifically responsible for strategy/business development, international sales, marketing and human ressources at secunet Security Networks AG. Axel Deininger has been Chairman of the Board since June 2019.

Axel Deininger is an industrial engineer who possesses many years of management experience from holding positions at companies such as Siemens AG, Infineon Technologies AG and Samsung Semiconductor Europe GmbH. Most recently, Deininger held a variety of management positions during his more than ten years with Munich-based Giesecke+Devrient Group.
