G+D provides access technology for the Munich Security Conference
Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is once again supplying the security technology for access control at the Munich Security Conference (MSC), which will be held at the Bayerischer Hof Hotel from 18th to 20th February. It includes both access cards and the Veridos eAccess solution, which conveniently identifies visitors as they pass through the access gates.
The list of participants at the annual Security Conference includes high-ranking heads of state and government, representatives from the business community and key decision-makers from the global security community in Munich. In addition to debates on security-related topics, current issues and hot topics in world politics are also discussed.
The access cards for the event are supplied by the Munich-based company G+D. They are equipped with security features such as holograms and printed micro-symbols and are personalized in a thermal transfer process. Additional built-in security chips enable verification from several meters away. If required, the cards can also be checked manually using RFID readers and smartphones.
Verification of the cards is provided by the Veridos eAccess solution from Veridos, the joint venture between Bundesdruckerei and G+D. As participants pass through the highly secure gates, they authenticate their identity using advanced biometric facial recognition technology. Due to the emergency situation caused by Covid-19, extra checks are made at the gates to ensure that all participants have the necessary authorization documents ready for entry.
"The first-class Munich Security Conference has a vital requirement for secure access and error-free identification of participants," explains Ralf Wintergerst, Chairman of the Management Board and Group CEO of G+D. "With its proven, state-of-the-art access technology, G+D will once again cater to these requirements this year. To this end, we are making a small but significant contribution to the smooth running of this event, which is so important for global exchange."
