18/03/2019 Munich Giesecke+Devrient

The newly launched BPS® C5 is the winner of this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD in the category “Product/Industry”. Each year, the world’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD.

The 67-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, chose the BPS® C5 because of its outstanding degree of innovation, the excellent functionality including ergonomics, its aesthetic appeal and the high standard with regard to environment, safety and health. Altogether, over 6,400 entries were submitted from 50 countries for the iF DESIGN AWARDS.

BPS® C5 benchmark in efficiency and in design

“We are very proud of this prestigious award, especially looking at the very strong competition from all over the world”, said Wolfgang Kneilmann, Head of the Currency Management Solutions division and Board Member of G+D Currency Technology. “Not only is the BPS® C5 another prime example of a flexible and highly efficient banknote processing system, it is obviously also very well designed. User-friendliness is high on our list; we always have the end-user in mind when designing our systems. The BPS® C5 was developed to specifically meet the needs of small and medium-sized cash centers and count rooms, or large back offices in bank branches. With its high throughput, improved usability, and the ability to integrate seamlessly into any cash management software, the BPS® C5 sets yet another benchmark. All our systems are highly flexible and can be individually tailored to customer needs.”

63.000 banknotes per hour

The BPS® C5 processes up to 63,000 banknotes per hour. It is suitable for all banknote substrates (paper, hybrid, polymer) and also for casino tickets. Its various operation modes and up to 25 output stackers support multiple and complex sorting requirements. Due to its modular system design the BPS® C5 is easy to upgrade and future-proof.
