Together with the implementing company MC Grundstücksgesellschaft, global security technology group Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is erecting a new building with around 42,000 square meters of floorspace at the premises of the company headquarters. The building complex at the Prinzregentenstraße site in Munich will offer space for companies operating in similar fields of technology as G+D. Architectural office HENN has now been commissioned with constructing this building at G+D’s Munich headquarters.

Living social responsibility: Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) has committed itself to this objective and established the non-profit G+D Foundation in 2010. Under this umbrella, organizations are promoted that are committed to educational work for children and young people as well as the promotion and preservation of art and culture. One such institution is the Museum of the Printing Arts in Leipzig. Here, you can see over 550 years of printing and media history up close. The museum has just celebrated its 25th anniversary. Furthermore, the City of Leipzig has now presented Verena von Mitschke-Collande, G+D shareholder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Giesecke+Devrient Foundation, with the Leipzig Medal of Honor for her commitment to the museum.

The Königstein location in Saxony is one of Germany’s oldest paper mills. The “paper mill in Biela valley” was first mentioned in an official document in 1577. In 1991, the security technology group Giesecke+Devrient acquired the mill, and in 1997 it was fused it with the company’s Louisenthal subsidiary, an internationally active substrate and foil producer based in Gmund am Tegernsee, Germany. G+D celebrated the 450th anniversary in a ceremony on June 29 at the company site in Königstein.

The French banking group Crédit Agricole is testing contactless payment cards with integrated fingerprint readers in a pilot project with 200 customers. The biometric cards in use come from G+D Mobile Security.

Considering global market demand for independent and standardized payment solutions, G+D Mobile Security and IDEMIA announce their intention to create the White Label Alliance (WLA) to provide a new security solution for next generation payment applications. The solution will be based on White Label EMV^® specifications and will enable ready-to-deploy solutions for domestic payment schemes and closed-loop worldwide.

The winner of an architectural competition to design the campus has now been selected by a prestigious panel of judges.
